The quartet

The Flare Quartet, a fresh and innovative string quartet based in the Netherlands.

This versatile and energetic quartet is based in Utrecht, and loves playing both contemporary music and the classic works written for string quartet. They collaborate with young promising composers, and love to play newly written music. Next to this, they frequently work with artists outside the classical world, like Liliane Chlela, Phoria and Lido Pimienta.

A musical quartet performs on stage in a church or concert hall with an audience watching. The band includes a violinist, cellist, guitarist, and a music stand in the center, with an ornate altar or pulpit behind them. The audience is sitting on wooden chairs facing the stage.
